TECHNICAL TRAINING SCHEDULE

STUDIO RECORDING BASICS

Learn the fundamentals of sound recording, mixing and mastering. Included in these sessions will be the science of sound waves, Protools basics, mixing basics, basic tools, eq use and care, compression and file bouncing, sound manipulation, mixing and mastering techniques.


Each session will include a short lecture or demonstration, creative practice and time for questions and answers.

Beat Making Basics

Learn the fundamentals of beat making from basic vocabulary, to complex structuring of sounds and rhythms including the use of transitions, drops, key and chord progressions, structure and practice.

Each session will include a short lecture or demonstration, creative practice and time for questions and answers.

THE ART OF MUSIC PERFORMANCE

2 SessionS

Lady Midnight

Participants we will learn performance basics such as breathing techniques, vocal & body warm-ups, correct microphone placement, & on stage posture. Participants will present material and receive feedback on their performance. In session 2, participants learn how to engage a crowd and connect through physical performance.

Each session will include a short lecture or demonstration, creative practice and time for questions and answers.

VOcal training

Learn vocal techniques to help when warming up, as well as how to train your voice for both studio and live performance.

Each session will include a short lecture or demonstration, creative practice and time for questions and answers.

SONGWRITING BASICS

Learn basic elements of music including tempo, meter, time signature literary devices such as a couplet, quatrain, simile, and metaphor. Participants will also analyze different rhyme structures including internal rhyme schemes.

In session 2 participants will learn dissect the different parts of a song, how they function sonically and their purpose in contemporary music, with a 3rd session dedicated to the writing process.
