Please join us for Becoming Hmoob - a series of dialogue intended to identify ideas towards becoming Hmong which can then be expressed through photography or video.

Our first artmaking workshop begins

11AM - 2PM A LIGHT MEAL WILL BE BE PROVIDED

We are currently seeking up to eight paired participants to take part in 4 conversations and artmaking mentorships. Through a series of dialogue, we intend to identify ideas towards becoming Hmong which can then be expressed through photography or video. All ages are welcome and encouraged to join. Artwork created during this experience will be exhibited in the public with the intention of igniting conversations throughout the Hmong community.

No experience is required to participate and there is no cost. Artist mentors will be on hand to walk participants through the dialogue and artmaking process.

Workshops will take place on Saturdays between 11am-2pm at In Progress. Light meal and childcare will be provided. Dates are as followed.

Participants will learn how to take their ideas into an artistic form and they will develop creative working relationships with those they share a common experience with. As projects develop, individualized sessions will be scheduled where families can receive specialized support and their ideas to a completed product.
