BIOGRAPHY
Marcellou is a creative artist, storyteller, and aspiring photographer and tattoo artist who was born and raised in Saint Paul, Minnesota. He discovered his love of art and storytelling at an early age, joining In Progress when he was just six or seven years old. In Progress became a new and welcoming space where he and his family could explore creativity, learn, and build community together.
Though he spent some time away from Minnesota while living in Georgia for a fresh start, Marcellou has since returned and is now a student at Fridley High School. There, he’s taken advantage of diverse programs that encourage students to explore their interests, helping him refine his creative goals and plan for his future. After graduation, Marcellou hopes to attend college to pursue a degree in business while simultaneously building his craft as both a tattoo artist and photographer—two passions he has held close for as long as he can remember.
Marcellou’s interest in photography was sparked early, making short films with his cousins and serving as the “cameraman” for family projects. These formative experiences laid the foundation for his love of visual storytelling. Now, through his mentorship and internship with In Progress, he is focused on learning how to capture the perfect moment, plan thoughtful compositions, and develop the technical skills necessary to bring his creative visions to life. Driven by a hands-on learning style, he’s eager to take on new challenges and expand his artistic practice, sharing his unique perspective with the world.

Marcellou is an emerging multidisciplinary artist with experience in painting and drawing, showcasing strong visual sensibility and creative expression across traditional art forms. As a writer, he is able to articulate his ideas and stories with clarity and intention, enriching his approach to visual storytelling.
He is an aspiring photographer dedicated to learning the technical and creative skills needed to produce compelling, well-composed images. Marcellou brings a thoughtful, hands-on approach to his art, valuing practice and experimentation as essential parts of his growth. With a clear vision for his future as both a tattoo artist and photographer, he is committed to developing his craft and building meaningful connections through his creative work.
