BIOGRAPHY

Silas Bowman is a young hockey player and emerging filmmaker based in Minnesota. With a deep love for storytelling and visual media, Silas has begun exploring filmmaking as a way to capture and share the world around him—particularly his passion for hockey. This winter, he began work on a documentary that follows the life and energy of the hockey community, combining his athletic interests with his growing creative talents.

In addition to his documentary work, Silas recently completed a short video project for a small business called “Food Culture Consultants,” showcasing his ability to apply filmmaking techniques to real-world needs. Eager to learn and improve, he continues to build his skills in camera work and editing. Silas is particularly interested in mastering Final Cut Pro and developing a stronger sense of cinematic style. His enthusiasm, curiosity, and dedication make him a promising young filmmaker with a bright future in visual storytelling.

Qualifications

Silas has hands-on experience with DSLR camera operation, including basic techniques for capturing stable, well-composed footage. He is developing a working knowledge of film vocabulary and aesthetics, allowing him to understand and apply core cinematic concepts in his projects. His growing skills in camera techniques include framing, panning, and capturing motion-based subjects—especially in sports settings. He is also learning to edit with Final Cut Pro, gaining experience with cutting, sequencing, and adding sound to shape a compelling visual narrative.
