In Progress is working with its artists to present a series of informal conversations that hold ties with African immigrant communities and families living overseas. As conversations about opportunities and challenges facing our Afro-centered storytellers have been resonating in our hallways, it seemed time for artists to come together to visit, learn from one another and work together toward growing opportunities in the community.

In 2026 In Progress will work with IP artist Raina Otoun to organize gatherings that recognize the contributions of African immigrant communities in Minnesota and the unique challenges they are facing living in Minnesota in 2026.

Activities have yet to be formally planned but please check back in as we will be adding gathering dates in the next few weeks.
