BIOGRAPHY

Mickey Daniel is a photographer and videographer whose work is deeply informed by his Ethiopian heritage, with family roots in the Tigray region. His culture, faith, and upbringing remain central to his identity and continue to shape both his perspective and creative approach.

His interest in visual storytelling began at a young age, creating YouTube videos with friends and experimenting with skits, editing, and camera techniques. Mickey also developed an appreciation for photography during this time by capturing moments for his mother, an early influence that helped cultivate his eye for preserving memory and meaning through images. As he grew older, Mickey expanded his skills through content creation on platforms like TikTok, while also documenting his experiences as a soccer player by filming drills, trick shots, and personal highlights.

Over time, his connection to his cultural roots deepened, leading him to document cultural gatherings and community events. Through this work, he discovered a strong sense of purpose in capturing meaningful moments for others. This realization marked a turning point, transforming a long-standing interest into a focused passion.

During his senior year of college, Mickey formalized his work by launching a photography and videography platform, bringing together years of self-taught experience and creative exploration. What began as a personal pursuit has since grown into a professional practice, with Mickey now working with clients on events and portrait sessions.

His approach to image-making is both intuitive and responsive. While he maintains a clear vision for the final product, he often works fluidly, adapting in the moment and drawing inspiration from the environments and artistic influences around him. Through this process, Mickey continues to develop a distinct visual voice grounded in authenticity, cultural awareness, and a commitment to capturing moments that endure.
