Bella Dawson
multidisciplinary artist
BIOGRAPHY
Bella Dawson is a Minneapolis-based poet and interdisciplinary artist whose work weaves together storytelling, music, movement, poetry, fashion, jewelry design, and interactive performance art. Through immersive experiences, she invites audiences to return to the wisdom of the heart and reconnect with the innate intelligence of the body, spirit, and earth.
Deeply rooted in a commitment to collective healing and relational consciousness, Bella’s practice embraces the Self as both a vessel and a catalyst for radical transformation. Her artistry is a living reflection of her spiritual path—a journey of reconnection with her West African, Irish, Scandinavian, and Greek ancestries, and the ceremonial traditions that accompany them. Each of her creations is shaped by the question: How do we remember who we are, and what we are connected to?
Bella approaches her work as a sacred dialogue between the personal and the ancestral, the seen and the unseen. She draws on ancestral wisdom that frames humanity as inseparable from nature, spirit, and the cosmos. Her offerings are often described as living prayers—artworks and experiences that transcend time and space, evoking a sense of remembrance and reverence. Whether through a poem, a song, or a handcrafted adornment, her work asks the audience to listen deeply—to memory, to spirit, and to each other.
Her creative process is intentionally intuitive, shaped by dreams, rituals, and conversations with spirit guides and ancestral energies. Inspiration for Bella is not passive; it is a form of communion. She honors it as a sacred exchange, listening for the messages that arrive through sensation, image, sound, and emotion. This co-creative approach allows her to channel work that is not only personally expressive but also communally resonant.
In every medium she touches, Bella brings a grounded, heart-centered presence. Her artistic language honors the interconnectedness of all life and uplifts a collective yearning for beauty, healing, and truth. Through her multidisciplinary expression, she creates spaces where transformation, ceremony, and self-remembrance are not only possible—but profoundly necessary.
