Presented as a mockumentary, it follows a documentary crew documenting Nim, a local shaman believed to be possessed by the benevolent spirit Ba Yan, a family deity passed down through generations A chilling dive into Southeast Asian folklore, The Medium combines nerve‑shredding horror, disturbing ritual imagery, and psychological terror to explore themes of spiritual heritage, family trauma, and the unpredictable power of the unseen.
