BIOGRAPHY

Terry Faust graduated from the University of Minnesota with a BA in studio arts. Film and photography were his fields of interest. He was an in-house staff photographer and video producer/director for several Twin Cities businesses. He has also taught photography and multi-image production. In 1991 he began freelancing as a photographer, slide show producer, and video producer.

Terry writes urban fantasy stories, mainstream young adult novels, and humorous science fiction spoofs in his free time. Published work includes his young adult urban fantasy, Bearer of the Pearls from North Star Press St. Cloud, and Z is for Xenophobe. His short stories have appeared in local anthologies, with "Unpleasantness at 20,000 Feet" being reprinted in Calumet Editions Boundaries Without. His audio work can be heard on Story Hour: Guess Who's Coming to Gotterdammerung and Redshift Radio Theater: Good Service.

In 1991, the Loft Literary Center awarded his novel To Build a Blackbird (originally titled Elysium Flyer) first prize in their young adult fiction category.

The Minnesota State Arts awarded him a grant in 1983 to produce the short film Lunch with Stacie.

Terry retired in 2016 but does editorial photography for three Twin Cities community newspapers. He continues to write and makes weather vanes for Little Free Libraries.
