Jacob Her is a filmmaker and visual artist based in Saint Paul, Minnesota. A graduate of the University of Minnesota Duluth, Jacob holds a degree in Digital Arts and Photography – Studio Arts, along with a minor in Film. His work explores storytelling through an intimate, grounded lens, often shaped by cultural and environmental experiences.

Jacob’s artistic style leans toward slice-of-life realism, with an emphasis on emotionally honest narratives. Whether reflecting his own lived experiences or drawing from those around him, his films aim to capture the subtle details of everyday life. While realism continues to be a core part of his creative identity, Jacob remains open to new genres and approaches. He is particularly drawn to the idea of creating a science fiction epic in the vein of Interstellar, or exploring nostalgic horror aesthetics inspired by films like A Nightmare on Elm Street.
