basic rules for lighting and backdrop use in our studio

USING EQ FOR IN-STUDIO CHECKOUTS

  • At this time, only LIGHTING and BACKDROP EQ are allowed for In-Studio Checkouts. This includes:

    • LED and Photography Light Kits

    • Speedlights

    • Light stands, modifiers, reflectors, softboxes

    • Sandbags

    • Backdrops kits

    • Backdrops

  • All EQ being used for In-Studio checkouts must be logged. If you walk into the EQ Room for 10 seconds to grab something, log it before you walk out.

  • This EQ does not leave the studio for any reason. Doing so will result in the suspension of In-Studio Checkouts for everyone until further notice.

  • When you are done, put EQ back exactly where you found it in an organized manner.

The eq room and expectations

  • The EQ room is sometimes called the Print Room or the Back Room.

  • If you have a code, then only you are approved to use this code

    • Anyone who is allowed to be in the EQ Room will have a code. Please do not open the door for anyone else.

    • Giving your code to someone else will result in an IMMEDIATE loss of In-Studio Checkouts privileges

  • The EQ Room is to remain closed and locked when not occupied. Even if you are nearby, do not leave it open/unlocked.

  • Please do not store any personal items in the EQ Room. If you do decide to leave something in the EQ Room, we are not responsible if it goes missing or gets damaged.

  • For EQ Checkouts, please do not pick-up EQ in the EQ Room. Until your reservation request has been approved, inspected, checked out, and assigned a locker, you are not allowed to take any EQ.

    • We take this very seriously. Taking EQ for EQ Checkouts without approval will result in the suspension of In-Studio Checkouts for everyone until further notice.

    • You will also be put on Limited EQ Access until further notice.

  • For EQ Checkouts, please do not drop-off EQ in the EQ Room. Return EQ to your assigned locker.

  • You now have access to more cleaning supplies and now have a higher expectation to clean up after your projects.

Restrictions

  • Some EQ are marked as ‘For In-Progress Only’. These are for mentorships, programs, and events. Please do not use these.

  • Other off-limits EQ:

    • cameras

    • batteries, battery chargers, and charging cables

    • audio gear

    • projectors and speakers

    • printer

  • If you see Post-It note or any other sort of note on something in the Screening Room or EQ Room, it means:

    • this EQ has already been inspected and checked out, and not able to be used for In-Studio Checkouts

    • this EQ has been set aside and needs to be inspected for damage or malfunction
