Tomás Leal owns and operates Leal Studios LLC, a Saint Paul based company that provides digital media services to local businesses and organizations.  Leal Studios provides services in photography, videography, graphic design, art curation & consultation.  Leal also works as a teaching artist, for youth and adults. His expertise is in portraiture and event photography but is a very versatile photographer, versatile photographer, as he works in product and real estate photography.

Tomás Leal is well known for his technical expertise and understanding in the practice of lighting. He is a founding artist of In Progress and now leads then organization’s  Family Portraits initiative, photographing hundreds of families each year. He is also the program coordinator and mentor for the NEXUS program training participants in camera technique and lighting. He is the lead photographer / studio manager / community liaison for In Progress.

Qualifications

Tomas Leal has been an active artist with In Progress since 1996. He has a B.S. degree in photography from Brown Institute and has been working professionally as a photographer since 2010. Tomas has gained a reputation for his keen ability to work within community environments to photograph families and individuals at their very best. He is also well known for his technical expertise in portraiture, event and product based photography. In recent years he began mentoring other photographers in starting their own businesses as freelance photographers.
