BIOGRAPHY

Kabao Lee is a multidisciplinary artist based in Saint Paul, Minnesota, whose work reflects a commitment to creativity, growth, and community connection. Inspired by the In Progress community, Kabao is eager to engage more deeply in a collaborative environment that supports artistic exploration and shared learning. Her practice spans visual art, photography, storytelling, and personal transformation, with work shared across social media, community spaces, and public presentations.

Driven by a strong sense of purpose, Kabao is continually seeking to refine her craft, build meaningful connections, and expand her creative voice. Her work is deeply informed by her Hmong American cultural identity, which serves as both a source of inspiration and a foundation for storytelling. Through this lens, she explores themes of belonging, resilience, and collective experience, using art as a way to bring people together.

She is particularly drawn to the power of collaboration and the ways in which storytelling can foster empathy and encourage self-expression within communities. Kabao values creative processes that invite experimentation and cross-disciplinary approaches, often combining multiple art forms to generate new ideas and perspectives. This openness to blending methods and mediums allows her work to remain dynamic, reflective, and evolving.

As part of the In Progress community, Kabao is focused on deepening her practice while contributing to a space that prioritizes mutual support, curiosity, and artistic risk-taking. Her goal is to create both visually engaging and meaningful work that invites reflection while also strengthening connections between individuals and communities.
