BIOGRAPHY

Isavela Lopez comes from the Zapotec people located in Oaxaca, MX. She is a Spoken Word Artist, Writer, Danzante, Activist and aspiring filmmaker. She has had the opportunity to support different Land Protectors from across the globe at the United Nations. Through her spoken word she has been able to bring awareness to Climate Injustices both in Latin America and the United States. Lopez has collaborated locally with Indigenous Roots Cultural Art Center and International Indigenous Youth Council - Twin Cities Chapter. Her hope is to empower Indigenous youth across the globe and for them not to forget their traditions, teachings, and ceremonies hold power and beauty.
