BIOGRAPHY

Pa Na Lor is a multidisciplinary storyteller and visual artist based in Saint Paul, Minnesota. Her creative work spans experimental animation, painting, printmaking, drawing, digital filmmaking, and mixed-media storytelling. With a distinct aesthetic rooted in both personal reflection and visual exploration, Pa Na weaves together grand narratives and intimate moments through innovative and tactile processes.

Currently, she is developing an experimental animation project that blends hand-drawn illustrations, paint-on-glass animation, printmaking textures, and digital collage techniques. Her approach is layered and deliberate, inviting viewers to experience landscapes—both imagined and remembered—that are rich in texture and emotion.

Pa Na draws artistic influence from a wide range of sources, including the impressionist works of Claude Monet, the bold imagery of Karen Kunz, the traditional art of woodblock printing, and the atmospheric beauty of Chinese landscape painting. She also looks to influential animators and filmmakers such as Hayao Miyazaki, Wong Kar-wai, and Yuri Norstein for their ability to convey nuanced emotions and world-building through stylized, cinematic language.

Deeply motivated by a desire to tell stories that are often overlooked or held quietly within, Pa Na continues to explore new ways of designing and texturing visual landscapes. Her art practice is a reflection of her curiosity, cultural roots, and commitment to finding her own distinctive voice within the evolving world of contemporary multimedia art.
