Teku Njikta is a multidisciplinary artist whose creative journey is rooted in music, language, and the evocative power of sound and imagery. Born in ArlahNnyin, Africa, Teku was raised amidst the richness of oral traditions and philosophical thought. From a young age, he was drawn to the abstract nature of perspective—how it shapes the inner and outer world. This curiosity, paired with a love for poetry and rhythm, became the foundation of his artistic practice.

As a self-described “Moorlah,” or son of the soil, Teku’s vision is expansive. He sees creativity not as a destination but as an ongoing path—one where each word, beat, or image builds upon the last. For him, storytelling is sacred, and music is not just expression but testimony. Through the interplay of words and sound, he seeks to uncover truth and share his lived experiences.

Teku’s artistic evolution took a significant turn when he encountered In Progress in Minnesota. Initially introduced to the organization through a work engagement at their studio, he quickly felt the magnetic pull of its creative energy and cultural vibrance. Captivated by its community of artists and mentors, he joined the beat-making program and has since deepened his skills in music production, photography, and videography.

Whether crafting instrumentals, writing verses, or capturing images through the lens, Teku approaches every medium with intentionality and a deep reverence for story. He believes the work of an artist is never truly done—a sentiment that fuels his commitment to continued learning and creative exploration.
