BIOGRAPHY

I am a second generation Guitarist. My grandfather played the blues guitar very well. He toured throughout the south in the 40s and 50s. I started playing guitar in Detroit, Michigan at the age of 8. My mother got me a private instructor to help with the crafting of my musical skills. I studied Spanish Guitar works (Fernanda Sor).

At age 14 I began to play blues, jazz, and funk. I linked with jazz educator Donald Washington after performing with his group called: Bird Trane Sconow. For 10 years we performed the music of Bird Charlie Parker, John Coltrane, and Roscoe Mitchell. My mentor Donald Washington moved to Minnesota. I soon followed him.

I have an associates degree in music and a minor in music business. I studied video production and photography at Minneapolis community college. I started my own production company called DP Media; it’s a film and music enterprise.
