BIOGRAPHY
Daniel Reed — My dad was killed in front of me when I was 9 years old by my uncle, his own brother. I come from a tougher neighborhood on the Northside of Minneapolis and had it hard growing up. I’m the youngest of 14, and all my older brothers have been in and out of prison my whole life. I’ve experienced on-and-off homelessness since age 9 and got separated from my siblings. I was born into a family of chaos. Im a child of calamity, choosing to rewrite my story with peace and purpose.
We open the diary of a broken child—not to pity, but to understand. So turn the page, where this story begins.
Music became my coping mechanism. I lived in my head and didn’t know how to communicate how I felt, and music helped silence some of the traumatic thoughts I had. Now I’m on a journey — I’m set out to become a producer, sound engineer, manager, and community advocate. I’m going to use my story to build a platform and inspire the youth to choose a better path. I want to give them a place to tell their story — what it was like growing up in poverty-stricken areas — and help them express their anger and emotion through music and art.
