SAIB KUV
circa 2010
Saib Kuv – Watch Me See The Hmong In Me began in 2007 as a community based arts project. Through workshops and mentorships Saib Kuv provided newly developing Hmong artists the opportunity to create digitally produced photographs, videos and music pieces related to the theme of Hmong American identity. Over the past two years, more than 30 artists, age 6 to 28 have worked together to produce a body of work that speaks strongly to the pride and struggle of young Hmong Americans.
Saib Kuv is directed towards Hmong families including parents, elders and the next generation of Hmong Americans. The exhibit demonstrates the pride taken by Hmong artists in their heritage and presents their dedication to preserving their culture as it adapts itself to a Minnesota landscape.
