Natalie Schoenborn
painter / visual artist / photographer
biography
Natalie Schoenborn is a young visual artist and student at the Bug-O-Nay-Ge-Shig School in northern Minnesota. Originally born in Wisconsin, Natalie relocated to Bemidji with her family, where her creativity and passion for the arts have continued to grow.
From a very young age, Natalie displayed a natural gift for drawing. She would reach for any tool she could find—pencils, crayons, pens—to bring her imagination to life on paper. Over time, her interests evolved, and she discovered a deep love for painting, which has since become her favorite medium. Whether working in acrylics or exploring new textures and colors, she uses painting as a way to focus her thoughts and find a sense of calm and personal expression.
Natalie draws inspiration from the work of other artists, carefully studying their techniques and then adapting them in her own unique way. Her process often begins by replicating a composition she admires, followed by infusing it with her own creative twist. Each year, she sees her technical skills improve, and her confidence as an artist continues to flourish.
Beyond traditional mediums, Natalie has also started exploring digital photography as another way to capture and interpret the world around her. She views all of her art-making as part of a lifelong journey to share stories through images—stories that reflect her voice, her growth, and her identity.
Natalie’s ultimate dream is simple and powerful: to keep painting her stories and evolving as an artist throughout her life.
