Stefon Taylor
BIOGRAPHY
Stefon Bionik Taylor is a composer, producer, multi-instrumentalist from the Twin Cities who strives to contribute to the community through creation, collaboration, and teaching.
Like the part-human, part-machine allusions of his nickname, Bionik is at one in both acoustic and electronic realms. Bionik has composed, arranged, and collaborated on countless records with classic and contemporary artists ranging from Lizzo to Phil Collins.
He’s been in the studio with legendary producers like George Martin (The Beatles, Jimi Hendrix), Steve Albini (Nirvana, Smashing Pumpkins), and Peter Mokran (Aaliyah, Mary J. Blige, The Flaming Lips). His music has been featured in the Fast and Furious movie series, Power Rangers Movie, P-Valley, Empire, Insecure, Grownish, The New Negroes, NBA 2K, Madden, Trials Rising video game series, and many more.
Bionik’s live performances as a producer have taken him to Minneapolis’ First Avenue, Los Angeles’ Low End Theory, Chicago’s Park West and festivals across the country. Bionik is a McKnight composer fellow, a COMPAS resident teaching artist, Music and Education director for Mixtape Dance, and an instructor at Slam Academy.
