Stefon “Bionik” Taylor is a Twin Cities-based composer, producer, and multi-instrumentalist whose genre-defying work lives at the intersection of innovation, community, and cultural expression. With a deep commitment to creation, collaboration, and mentorship, Bionik has spent decades shaping soundscapes that resonate both locally and globally—elevating artists while contributing meaningfully to the evolving worlds of music and multimedia arts.

Nicknamed for his ability to fluidly merge organic and synthetic elements, Bionik is equally at home in the acoustic and digital realms. His dynamic range as a music creator has led to collaborations with a remarkable spectrum of artists—from pop icons like Lizzo and Phil Collins to underground visionaries and emerging talents. In the studio, Bionik has worked alongside legendary producers such as George Martin (The Beatles, Jimi Hendrix), Steve Albini (Nirvana, Smashing Pumpkins), and Peter Mokran (Aaliyah, Mary J. Blige, The Flaming Lips), honing a versatile and forward-thinking approach to sound design and production.

Bionik’s music has been featured in a wide range of television, film, and gaming platforms including the Fast & Furious franchise, Power Rangers Movie, P-Valley, Empire, Insecure, Grown-ish, The New Negroes, as well as popular video games like NBA 2K, Madden, and Trials Rising. His live performances as a producer have taken him to acclaimed venues such as Minneapolis’ First Avenue, Los Angeles’ Low End Theory, Chicago’s Park West, and festivals across the United States.

Beyond his own artistry, Bionik is a passionate educator and mentor. A McKnight Composer Fellow, he serves as a COMPAS Teaching Artist, Music and Education Director for Mixtape Dance, and instructor at Slam Academy—where he empowers the next generation of creatives to find their voice through music, performance, and digital art.
