Jacky Thao

BIOGRAPHY

Jacky Thao is passionate about mastering his craft in music. He has over a decade of piano experience starting out self taught at the age of 10, and professionally trained in piano at Augsburg University for 4 years. He also sings and produces his own music making him a varied multi-talented musician. He brings new sounds by incorporating Hmong Music, Jazz, Funk, Electronic, and City Pop into his compositions. He has experience playing piano in small and large ensembles. Playing live Jazz at Augsburg University and near the Minneapolis community. He had the honor of being invited to play piano at Governor Tim Walz’s mansion, he participates in Augsburg student organization events, and goes around Minneapolis playing at local venues like Jazz Central Studios. He is determined to make music that is true to himself. He wants people to remember the emotions his music evokes in hopes to entertain and comfort his listeners.
