Jeffrey Ting
Community Partner
Biography
Jeffrey Ting is a community organizer, program manager, and social justice advocate whose passion for care-centered leadership was shaped by his earliest role model—his grandmother, or 婆婆. A quiet yet profound force in his life, she embodied the values of generosity, love, and connection, often expressed through the simple yet powerful act of sharing food. Whether it was for neighbors in her assisted living community, friends, or healthcare workers, she always had a carefully prepared meal in hand. Her example taught Jeffrey that community care is not only about service, but about building relationships rooted in dignity and presence.
Inspired by this intergenerational wisdom, Jeffrey now serves as a Program Manager at the Coalition of Asian American Leaders (CAAL), where he co-leads the Becoming Organizers, Becoming Advocates (BOBA) program. Through this work, he helps develop emerging Asian American leaders across Minnesota—fostering connection, healing, and collective power within and across communities. He believes in building ecosystems of support where cultural identity, advocacy, and organizing can thrive in tandem.
With a commitment to equity, solidarity, and interdependence, Jeffrey approaches his work not just as a facilitator of programs, but as a bridge-builder—centering voices that have historically been excluded, and nurturing new visions of liberation that honor cultural legacy and community voice.
