BIOGRAPHY

See Vang is a filmmaker and media artist based in Saint Paul, Minnesota, with academic training and community-rooted experience in digital film production. She earned a Bachelor of Arts and Science degree from the University of Wisconsin–River Falls, emphasizing Digital Films and Television with a minor in Film Studies. Originally from Wausau, Wisconsin, See’s creative path has been shaped by both formal education and a deep commitment to storytelling within the Hmong community.

In 2013, alongside two college collaborators and her younger sister, See co-founded JustForYou Production, a film collective dedicated to producing narrative music videos as a passion-driven project for the Hmong community. What began as a creative outlet evolved into a registered business in 2021, reflecting the group’s long-term vision to provide accessible film services and culturally grounded storytelling. Through this work, See contributes to projects that center representation, collaboration, and creative empowerment.

Her artistic interests span cinematography, directing, and performance, allowing her to engage with filmmaking from multiple perspectives. See is especially motivated by the opportunity to inspire and uplift Hmong women by demonstrating that creative leadership and technical skill-building are attainable and valuable paths. She approaches filmmaking as both an expressive medium and a tool for strengthening community voice, identity, and confidence.

Qualifications

See Vang has hands-on experience in DSLR photography and cinematography, applying technical camera knowledge to narrative and music video production. She is proficient in Adobe Premiere CS6 for video editing and post-production workflows. Her directing experience includes collaborative film projects that guide creative vision from concept through completion. See also has acting experience, which informs her understanding of on-screen performance and storytelling dynamics.
