BIOGRAPHY

Erica Josefina Vibar (also known as Erica Jo, she/they) is a queer, mixed Midwest Chicana artist with deep generational roots in Saint Paul, Minnesota—on the lands of Mnisota Makoce. With a practice grounded in movement, music, and ancestral connection, Erica is a multidisciplinary performer and cultural worker whose artistry serves as a channel for healing, imagination, and community building.

As a house dancer and movement artist, Erica Jo is an active member of both Ananya Dance Theatre and Body Watani, two Twin Cities-based companies that center justice, embodied storytelling, and BIPOC-led performance. Her background in street and club dance opened a path to music production, where she found a new voice for expression. Since 2018, she has been studying beat-making and sound design with mentors Vin and Cassie at In Progress, deepening her technical skills and artistic vision.

Erica’s creative process is rooted in collaboration, ancestral memory, and a deep return to self. Whether she’s dancing on stage, producing experimental beats, or singing into the studio mic, Erica channels a commitment to storytelling that honors her identity and reimagines liberated futures.
