Bao Vue
BIOGRAPHY
Bao is an aunt, community healer, story-sharer, and filmmaker. Her work focuses on nuanced storytelling and healing for women, people of color, immigrants and refugees, and the queer community. Her current projects include a documentary addressing depression and suicide in the Twin Cities among the Asian American community, writing a personal screenplay on Hmong people and anti-blackness, and facilitating a healing peace circle for women-identifying folks.
Recently, she completed a fellowship as a Saint Paul Neighborhood Network's (SPNN) New Angle Fellow, and was a recipient of the 2019 Artist Neighborhood Partnership Initiative (ANPI) from the Center for Urban and Regional Planning (CURA). Bao is an active artist at In Progress who enabled her creativity and film career.
Bao enjoys other creative outlets such as photography, sewing, and karaoking. Her adorable nephews and yellow lab, Zen, take up most of her free time outside of being a creative and story-sharer.
