Malea whipple
videography / peer mentorship
Malea Whipple is a bright and imaginative youth artist from Minnesota, where she was born and has lived her whole life. Introduced to In Progress through her Aunt Jacy—who has been a longtime participant and supporter—Malea first learned about the creative community by attending with her siblings. Although she hasn’t been heavily involved yet, she is now eager to participate more fully and explore her artistic interests.
Malea is excited about the possibilities at In Progress, where she hopes to learn how to make videos and edit them, as well as improve her reading and writing skills. She’s especially curious about learning how to set up lights for video shoots and understanding how cameras work. Despite her young age, Malea already considers herself an artist, proudly creating “cute” drawings and occasionally painting (even if it gets a bit messy!). Beyond her artistic side, she’s known at school for her surprising strength—able to lift many of her classmates—which she shares with cheerful confidence.
At school, Malea enjoys learning new things, especially as her class begins to explore science. Looking to the future, she dreams of continuing photography work at In Progress and eventually launching her own YouTube channel where she can share her videos, creativity, and ideas with the world.
