Youth from Nett Lake Village worked with guest artist Ivy Vainio, and IP artists Cecilia Martinez and Kristine Sorensen to create digital portraits and collages that were later featured as a poster exhibit that was shared throughout the community and at the state of the band.
Ogichidaakweg began in 1998 as a digital art making and leadership program for young women living on the Leech Lake Reservation. Over the past decade, many of the young women that started as participants are now the teachers and the organizers, sharing their experiences, knowledge and hearts with an entirely new generation of young storytellers including youth living in Nett Lake Village.
