BIOGRAPHY

Dunmatti Xiong is an emerging music artist and lyricist who is beginning to shape his creative identity through rap and songwriting. Recently introduced to In Progress by his cousin Keng Yang, Dunmatti joined alongside his brother, Peter Xiong, seeking an opportunity to grow artistically and develop professional skills within a supportive environment.

Although he does not yet consider himself widely established, Dunmatti has prior experience playing piano and retains a foundational familiarity with the instrument. His primary artistic focus, however, lies in writing lyrics and rapping. He describes rap as his strongest skill, using rhythm and wordplay as a way to express thoughts, emotions, and personal perspective. While he has not yet recorded an extensive catalog of music, he is actively working on developing original songs and plans to produce recorded samples as he continues learning at In Progress.

Dunmatti approaches this stage of his journey with a growth mindset. He hopes to gain technical knowledge in recording, production, and performance so that he can eventually generate income through his creative work. He is motivated by the idea of turning raw talent into refined skill, and he sees mentorship and hands-on studio experience as essential steps in that process.

Currently focused on writing and completing songs, Dunmatti aims to strengthen both his lyrical content and delivery. Looking ahead, he envisions continuing to make music long-term, expanding his abilities, and building a body of work that reflects both discipline and artistic evolution.
