BIOGRAPHY

My name is Danny. I go to the Crookston High School. I’ll be in the 11th grade the beginning of next fall.

I got involved with InProgress through my cousins. They moved away, but while they were in Crookston, I found interest in InProgress and started participating.

I was involved in the boarderlines project focused on my anxiety and depression. We were also focusing on the southern boarder and everything going on down there. I was involved in the video of “Cries of the Children” that was made in 2018.

My current project I’m working on is called “Yellow”. Yellow will be about focusing on someone you love or a place, any person, place, or thing. Focusing on what makes you happy, what makes you feel safe and comfortable. It’s your Yellow.

In the future I will be constructing a project focusing on mental health and areas around it. It will help because of the large stigma around it. It’s hard to reach for help sometimes but if we give recognition then maybe people will feel more comfortable seeking help and telling others that something is wrong and hopefully stop it.

Trapped

There are hundreds and hundreds of children at detention centers that are separated from their families at the border. People need to be more aware about these centers. The children are scared and alone, because they had to part with their families - SCARED / ALONE / AFRAID . It’s hard. It’s hard for them to go through something like that at their age.

ANXIETY-NESS

Living with anxiety is difficult.  You can feel the tension in your veins as it spreads throughout your mind and body.  Most people don’t notice it but when it comes over me it is paralyzing.  And it comes out of nowhere.  I know a lot of people, especially young people are living with anxiety.  I  tell you this so that you understand my shyness.  It’s nothing personal it’s just who I am as a person living with Anxiety.
