sound Stories
program overview
Podcasting is an up and coming trend in sharing stories, dialoguing about issues of the day, and sharing extraordinary teaching with others. In Progress has embraced this trend and has begun its own podcasting channel. We are currently looking for artists interested in contributing weekly, bi weekly, or monthly shows. This initiative is not for everyone. It does require a commitment to learn, build with others and produce using our podcast facility at Studio 213.
Train
Once accepted into the program, you will be asked to schedule a training session with our podcast coordinator, Aaliyah McQueen. She will introduce you to equipment, our basic rules and guidelines, expected timelines for production, and a process for building content.
CONCEPTUALIZE
This is where you need to go beyond a thought or idea, into some hard core planning. We ask that you review these tutorials, and do some brainstorming. Please keep in mind that we are looking for podcasters willing to commit to a year or more of programming (12-48 episodes annually). Review this link before taking your first steps.i
Identify listeners
We ask that you keep the values In Progress in mind as you develop content. No explicit language or malicious intent. Be respectful and kind in the delivery of your stories and remember that you are representing In Progress. This program is not intended as a platform for generating revenue. It is about connecting with others through story. Keep this in mind as you think about and determine your target audience. You can click here to learn more about audience development.
SUBMIT YOUR WORK PLAN
Once you have developed a detailed plan, the next step will be to submit your strategy to the podcast coordinator. Aaliyah McQueen will review your plan and may ask to work with you to complete details or provide some constructive criticism to help ensure your success. To submit your plan, please click here.
Produce
Once your proposal has been approved, you can begin reserving time to create your podcasts. At this stage you will be able to create on your own schedule. Completed episodes will then be submitted to the podcast coordinator and uploaded to to TRANSISTOR where you can then share and publicize within your own social media networks.
REPEAT & REFINE
Once your first episode has been completed, waste no time getting started on the next in your series. Review the strengths and weaknesses of your work. Get feedback from other podcasters. Maybe even survey your potential audience. And then get busy and keep producing, sticking to your plan.
