EMERGENCY AID FOR HOUA YANG
“Sometimes, I imagine that I am back in Laos, just to get away from reality. I fought for this country during the aftermath of the Vietnam War.” — Houa Yang
Houa Yang is the mother of Thao Xiong, a local artist and activist who was recently detained by ICE and is currently in Texas awaiting deportation to Laos. Houa and her son shared a home, expenses, and daily care for one another. His detention has abruptly separated them and left Houa facing uncertainty and immediate financial strain.
In Progress is accepting donations to support Houa’s basic living needs during this time. All funds raised will go directly toward bills, food, and essential expenses as she prepares for what comes next. Click below to donate.

Local, family-owned businesses in the North End of St. Paul are experiencing serious financial strain due to recent enforcement activity in the area. Many have reduced hours, lost customers, and are continuing to support neighbors in need. Besides visiting our local busineses you can also help finacially-if you are able.
The North End Community Foundation is committed to supporting community and opportunity in the North End and will match donations dollar-for-dollar, up to $2,000. Funds will be redistributed on an emergency basis to impacted businesses.
COMMUNITY CARE
In Progress has begun offering a series of care activities that address the impact felt by families, artists, and volunteers working to continue their lives during this time of federal immigration activity.
Volunteers are currently planning activities that bring community together, provide space creating, recording the history of this time, and receiving support in grounding bodies and minds as trauma has been inflicted on many.
Funding received through this channel will go to support costs of art supplies, groceries for meals, printing materials for public information sharing, and as needed gas and grocery support for those providing services while volunteering. Click below to donate

Drawing inspiration from mycelial networks, experiences, insights and lessons from the Global south and Civil rights movements, immigrant and BIPOC survival practices, and long-arc movement thinking, this interactive session reframes care as infrastructure, repair as political skill, and connection as power laying strategic foundations for sustainable collective work.
