The Art of Consumption

The Art of Consumption

In a world full of constant stimulation, how often do we pause to ask: What am I consuming, and why?
How is this impacting me — physically, mentally, and emotionally? The Art of Consumption is an interactive mindfulness workshop that invites us to explore a more conscious relationship with what we take in every day — from food, media, experiences, and energy.

Together, we will reflect on how consumption patterns influence our stress response, well-being, and sense of connection. This is not about restriction or judgment. This is about awareness, intention, and care. Rooted in the science of intuitive connection, we will uncover the importance of slowing down and regulating our nervous system where consumption becomes less about accumulation and more about alignment.

Join us in community to discover how conscious consumption can become a form of self-love, care, expression, and art.

Herbal ingredients are included as we will be brewing our own medicine!
Bring your own mat and/or blanket for comfort; water will be provided.

Please note - this activity is presented by a community partner and fees do apply if you choose to attend.

Mycelial Organizing: Care, Power, & Collective Futures

Mycelial Organizing is a collective learning and strategy space that builds care & resistance frameworks for community organizers navigating sustained stress, urgency, and fragmentation.

This workshop is led by IP artist and. mentor Bhavana GoparajuShe is an accomplished filmmaker and writer who has developed this workshop series.

Drawing inspiration from mycelial networks, experiences, insights and lessons from the Global south and Civil rights movements, immigrant and BIPOC survival practices, and long-arc movement thinking, this interactive session reframes care as infrastructure, repair as political skill, and connection as power laying strategic foundations for sustainable collective work.

The workshop centers shared capacity, collective pacing, and decentralized strength, so organizers are not asked to carry collective work alone inside systems that isolate responsibility.

Sessions will include:

  • Story circle-Guided collective reflection grounded in lived organizing experience

  • Mapping of care, labor, and connection within organizing ecosystems

  • Group exercises that strengthen shared responsibility and long-term thinking

  • Space for participants to translate insights into their own organizing contexts

Please register below. This activity is intended to build belonging and familiarity while we all work to move through difficult times.  Additional session may be added.

Questions can be directed to info@in-progress.org.
